Steam Output

The higher the steam output, the better. The continuous steam will be automatically released from the soleplate as you are ironing, gently softening your clothes and allowing for an easier ironing session. The steam output is measured in grams per minute, based on the steam quantity released during 1 minute.

Soleplate

There are 5 different soleplates to consider when choosing a new Iron:
1- Aluminium: good heat conductor, although hard to clean and presents inferior glideability and scratch resistance
2- Non-stick: scratches easily, but offers better glideability
3- Stainless steel: hard wearing coating with better anti-scratch properties. Improved glideability
4- Ceramic: best glideability, good heat distribution, very hard wearing and easy to clean.
5- Palladium: Exclusive to Tefal this offers the same benefits benefits as ceramic soleplate but cleans itself automatically. Guarantees long lasting glideability and easier ironing.

Anti-scale

The anti-scale feature is a must-have! It prevents the calc particles from transforming into small stones and landing on your freshly pressed fabric. There are 2 types of anti-scale systems:
-    The classic system which consists of a stick coated with a special material that attracts particles of calc in the water tank.
-    The integrated anti-scale system located inside the water tank. It prevents lime scale build up. The integrated anti scale is the most efficient device since it prevents calc from building up.

Pre-set ironing programs

This is a very convenient feature that allows "guess free" ironing. You simply need to select the type of fabric you are ironing and let the iron do the job! It automatically selects the right temperature with the correct amount of steam to help you glide through your ironing and achieve great results! The Jeans setting, for example, is the most powerful one that helps remove the toughest creases. The pre-set ironing programs also help you take the greatest care of your clothes by selecting the best suited temperature for your garments.

Auto off

Not too sure if you’ve turned your iron off before leaving your home? If it has an auto off feature, there is no need to worry anymore. If left unattended, it will turn itself off after 8 minutes when on its heel, and after 30 seconds when laid down. A very useful safety feature you won’t want to live without!

Steam

The higher the steam output, the better the ironing result. Steam generators diffuse continuous steam while you are ironing. The steam softens the fabric, making it much easier for you to iron your garment. Some steam generators also have “turbo steam” function. It gives an extra boost of steam to get rid of the toughest creases.
The steam pressure is measured in bar. The higher the bar pressure, the easier it will be to get rid of creases.
The steam output is measured in grams per minute. So the higher the steam output, the more steam you will get.

Anti scale system

All Tefal Steam Generators have the unique anti-scale collector. This helps remove scale quickly and easily to maintain your Iron ensuring glideability and maximum steam performance.After a few months of use, scale can alter the steam performance of your steam generator. An anti scale device helps prevent the scale build up and increases the life of you steam generator. Make sure the steam generator you buy has a good anti scale system and you remove scale quite often (after 10 uses is recommended)
There are 2 anti scale devices:
- Anti scale cartridge: needs to be replaced every 2 months
- Built-in anti scale device: the most convenient. It can be a device to help you rinse the water tank under the tap, or remove the scale with an anti scale collector.

Continuous fill

A very convenient feature that allows you to fill in your water tank as you wish without having to turn the steam generator off and on again after refill.

Water tank capacity

The water tank capacity is measured in litres. The higher the capacity, the longer your ironing session will be without having to refill your steam generator.

Lock system

To ensure more safety, the lock system allows you to lock the iron to its base. It is also a very convenient feature to help carry and store the steam generator away.

Cord storage

It is always an advantage to be able to easily store your steam generator. Some steam generators offer cord compartments, tubes or auto cord rewind that you will learn to appreciate when storing your steam generator away!

Auto off
